CIPS Level 2 and 3 Certificates

There are no entry requirements for Level 2 Introductory Certificate in Purchasing and Supply or Level 3 Certificate in Purchasing and Supply. Students can choose to commence their studies on either of these qualifications depending on their reasoning for undertaking a CIPS qualification. If your purchasing or stores duties only constitutes part of your working day or you are new to the profession and would like to gain a qualification covering the basic principles of purchasing and stores, level 2 is right for you. If you are embarking on a new career in purchasing and have little or no experience but plan to progress through the CIPS qualifications, level 3 would be an ideal entry point.

CIPS Level 2 Introductory Certificate in Purchasing and Supply

Covering the basic principles of purchasing, you can undertake this qualification with no previous experience or prior learning and is also suitable for those working in Stores. Made up of one compulsory unit consisting of 4 elements;

• The role and scope of purchasing
• Systems and procedures in purchasing
• Working with suppliers
• The importance of purchasing contracts

CIPS Level 2 can be undertaken by distance learning or as an in-house programme for groups of 4 or more. We will provide you with a study plan, study materials, tutor support and more to prepare you for the final one hour multi choice test.

CIPS Level 3 Certificate in Purchasing and Supply

This qualification can also be undertaken without prior learning or experience. It comprises of 5 compulsory units;

• Understanding the purchasing environment
• Purchasing operations
• Client and supplier relationships
• Securing supply
• Purchasing in action (assessment option available)

We can deliver this qualification by distance learning or as an in-house programme for groups of 4 or more. We will provide you with a study plan, study materials, tutor support and more to prepare you for each of the 5 examinations set by CIPS. You can choose to complete the Purchasing in Action unit by assessment where there is no examination involved. Completion of CIPS Level 3 would enable you to continue your studies on CIPS Level 4 Foundation Diploma if you wish to do so.
