Competence Framework

The starting point to determine the levels of skills required by the purchasing team is a set of competences covering both technical and relationship abilities. The framework comprises a range of competencies each broken into levels from beginner to expert.

Once developed the competence framework becomes the basis for procurement training and supply chain management training. Staff can be assessed against their current competence levels as part of a full training needs analysis resulting in a corporate training programme to fill the skill gaps. Some corporate programmes will include an educational element allowing delegates to obtain MCIPS.
